Attacks lead to over 80 worshipers dead

I’m not one that discusses religion, sport or politics in my business but the recent attack on a Mosque in Pakistan has left me baffled.  The attackers attacked a mosque during their Friday prayers which is considered the holiest of days and the siege went on for hours resulting in hundreds injured and over 80 worshipers dead.

This is not anything new in Pakistan for a Mosque to be attacked but what’s special about this Mosque is that it belonged to the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam.  Shia and Sunni mosque have been targets of attacks in the past where the sect attack each others’ Mosques in revenge.  It’s a heinous crime to attack someone’s place of worship especially when they are praying and I strongly condemn them.  Ahmadiyya Movement that preaches it’s slogan, “Love for All, Hatred for None” was targeted by the Punjabi Taliban who have accepted responsibility for the attacks.

The Jama’at (Ahmadiyya Movement) is being prosecuted for their belief and is subject to legal discrimination since 1953 in their own country and have recently been targeted in countries such as Indonesia, Bangladesh and Egypt. The Jama’at is considered a peace loving community that has never been part of any of barbaric acts and strongly condemns all acts of terrorism conducted by fascist Muslims.

Here are a recent interview by one of their leaders in the USA.

  2. So this was a muslim on muslim attack?

  3. Yup… It’s not that uncommon but what’s uncommon about this one is that the sect “Ahmadiyya Movement” has never attacked any of the other sects and is subject to state discrimination based on their belief which is disgusting. They are called non-muslim and are considered worthy of being killed by other religions and the government doesn’t say boo…

I hope they wake up and smell the coffee that they can’t run a country like this!
