Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is On

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is an annual September event that aims “to promote understanding and education about shoreline litter issues by encouraging Canadians to rehabilitate shoreline areas through cleanups.” This year’s events began on September 17th, but there are still lots of chances to get involved by helping out at one of the many cleanups taking place in Toronto and GTA through this weekend.Here are just a few of the shoreline cleanup events still upcoming in Toronto:

  • Black Creek between Jane and Lawrence

  • Mimico Creek at Berry Road Park (register at trcastewardshipevents.ca)
  • Split Len Ford Long Branch Park
  • High Park, Jamie Bell Adventure Playground and Pond
  • Bend Manor Park
  • Budapest Park West
  • Christie Pits Park
  • Wards Island
  • Woodbine Beach at Kew Gardens

  • Pine Point Park
  • Humber Bay shoreline from Palance Pier Ct. to Park Lawn Road
