Things to do this weekend

Here’s a list of things you can do this weekend and enjoy Toronto
  • The Fall Home Show is on from Thursday September 22nd to Sunday the 25th at the Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place.
  • Meanwhile The Clothing Show is on in the Queen Elizabeth Building at Exhibition Place (but only from Friday to Sunday).
  • One of my favourite Toronto events, The Word on the Street National Book & Magazine Festival is on this Sunday, September 25th in Queen’s Park.
  • Also on Sunday, the Toronto Garlic Festival is on at Evergreen Bricks Works from 9am to 4pm.
  • There’s a variety of events taking place around the city during the Small World Music Festival, which is on from September 22nd to October 2nd. This weekend’s events include a day of free programming at Yonge-Dundas Square on Saturday.
  • Toronto Beer Week continues until Saturday September 24th.
  • The Argos are at the Rogers Centre on Saturday night (and before the game, the 2nd Annual World Poutine Eating Championship will take place outside Gate 11!).
  • On Saturday and Sunday the Go Global Expo at the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre provides information on opportunities to work, study and volunteer overseas.
  • As I already mentioned this week, Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup events continue through Sunday.
  • A new season of Moordale Concert’s “Music & Truffles – Classical Music for Children” one-hour concerts begins this Sunday.
  • This Sunday is 2011’s penultimate Pedestrian Sunday in Kensington Market, and the theme for the day is “Earth! Global Harvest Traditions”.
  • This weekend’s events at Toronto’s historic museums include a Harvest Festival at Todmorden Mills and a volunteer recruitment event for “Historic Cooks” at Fort York, both on Sunday.
