Canadian Music Week

Canadian Music Festival attracts over 1,000 artists to over 60 venues across Toronto.  From mainstream to indie and all the genres in-between, this is a Toronto event you won’t want to miss.  Shows will continue until March 31st.

Arigato, Tokyo

Brought to you by Brendan Healy and team, the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre will be presenting Daniel MacIvor’s Arigato, Tokyo from March 21st to April 14th.  The play’s intense emotion towards love, obsession, and sex delivers a powerful performance time and time again.  Call 416-975-8555 for more information.

Beat Nation

Get ready for the dance battle event that you have been waiting for.   The Power Plant is hosting this year’s Aboriginal and Hip-Hop dance celebration on March 22nd at the Enwave Theatre, Harbourfront Center.  The title of this exhibition is “Beat Nation: art, Hip-Hop, and Aboriginal Culture.”  The final 16 dance crews will compete for a $1,000 cash prize in the final rounds.

Rigorous Mess

Rigorous Mess will be reducing winter stock by 40% this month.  With guest vendors such as Reclaim jewelers and photographer Shane Fester, there will be plenty of things to see and buy.  Did we mention there is also free beer?  Pop by on March 23rd between 12pm and 6pm.

Canadian Water Week

Canadian Water Week is based on the UN`s annual “Water Day.”  In specific to Toronto, the AGO will be hosting the Water Docs Film Fest from March 21st to 24th.

National Home Show

At the Direct Energy Centre, check out the National Home Show and Canada Blooms.  Hurry in, this event ends Sunday.  The show is presented to you by RE/MAX and is an excellent source of information for any home improvement project.  This year’s show will feature Bryan Baeumler and Paul Lafrance.  Join the 700 retailers that are getting together for this free event.

Toronto Storytelling Festival

Between Mach 21st and 24th, Jay O’Callahan, Sandra Shamas, Marta Singh, Corin Raymond, Louis Bird, Gayle Ross, Ron Evans, Matthew Byrne, and Kris Wardetzky will be at Daniels Spectrum in Region Park, delivering stories and having a good time.  All are encouraged to join.

Earth Hour

Don’t forget about Earth Hour this Saturday night between 8:30pm and 9:30pm.  This is a worldwide event brought to you by the WWF in order to raise awareness about the immediacy of climate change issue.

New Ideas Festival 2013

This Toronto event has been on since the beginning of March and is reaching its end this weekend.  The three week event for new writing and experimental theatre will wrap up with a staged reading of Everything but the Cat” by Adrianna Prosser on Saturday afternoon.

Toronto World MasterCard Fashion Week

Watch the biggest names in Canadian fashion come together March 18th to 22nd at the David Pecaut Square and showcase their newest selections.  In accordance with this event, Stylicity will award individuals 20% off at fashion retailers and participating restaurants when you pay with MasterCard during the event.
