I love real estate, specifically unique properties that need help, and one of the properties that my clients and I have been working on over the past two years is 650 Bay Street. The property located at the corner of Bay and Elm street in downtown Toronto is set to return to it’s glory days since the renovation project started in late 2009.
The property will have two retail spaces on the main floor. The larger unit of the two is already leased out to a gourmet sandwich company and is set to open this year in August while the smaller 420 square feet space is still available for lease. I was recently interviewed by Toronto Star in relation to the current status of the building and what the future holds for it.
This is the first step in the revitalization of the building which consists of renovations of the exterior with limestone and exposed brick along fine finishes on the interior. The boutique hotel is currently being projected for completion closer to the end of 2011 to early 2012.
Following is a clipping of the article as seen in Toronto Metro on June 21, 2011 on page o3
